When I think about Martin Scorsese’s latest film “The Wolf of Wall Street” the word that comes to mind is: excessive.
Excessive Money. Excessive Drugs. Excessive Sex.
In the hands of a less talent filmmaker this movie itself could have felt excessive and heavy handed, but Scorsese manages to turn the lifestyle of Jordan Belfort into a well crafted masterpiece.
The tempo of the film moves the plot along at a pace that allows a 3 hour long film to feel anything but too long.
And the acting in this film is phenomenol. I want Leonardo DiCaprio to play me in the film of my life.
Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey and Rob Reiner also have fantastic performances in The Wolf of Wall Street.
Overall this is a very well constructed film with some top notch wrting, acting and directing. Excessive might be the word that comes to mind…but I still can’t get enough.(4.5 / 5)
